Moscow : Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that Russia has agreed in principle to proposals supported by the United States aimed at bringing an end to the war in Ukraine, while clarifying that no formal peace agreement has been signed so far.
Speaking about the recent discussions with a News Channel, Putin said the talks held in Anchorage did not result in the signing of any documents or a final agreement. However, he noted that both sides engaged in detailed discussions on possible frameworks for ending the conflict. A video talk of President Putin is shared by RT Hindi on social media handle ‘X’.
According to the Russian President, the negotiations focused on potential peace arrangements, following which the Russian delegation conveyed its broad acceptance of the proposed framework to the US side.
“Yes, we agree,” Putin said, describing Russia’s response to the proposals discussed during the talks.
Despite the positive indication, Putin stressed that the discussions remain at a preliminary stage and that no legally binding agreement has yet been concluded.
The remarks signal a possible step forward in diplomatic efforts to end the prolonged conflict, although further negotiations are expected before any formal peace deal can be finalized.
